Prostate cancer has an unsettling nickname: The silent killer. That's because there are very few symptoms of the disease until it has progressed to the serious stage. "When you start to have symptoms, such as bleeding and bone pain, it's too late to provide a cure with surgery or conservative treatment," says Dr. Vipul Patel, one of the nation's leading prostate-cancer surgeons and director of Florida Hospital's Global Robotics Institute.
