Surgery was his best option
When Bertram Lewars visited his doctor for a routine physical last September, the blood test came back with a surprising result. His PSA (prostate specific antigen) levels were elevated. Lewars, 49, didn't have any symptoms of prostate cancer -- no pain urinating, no getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. But he had no intention of waiting for symptoms.
