Florida Hospital is proud to announce the creation and launch of the Florida Hospital Global Robotics Institute. We continue to build on the outstanding legacy our surgeons have created in robotic surgery. In 2004, we were the first hospital in Central Florida to perform a da Vinci® robotic radical prostatectomy. The early adoption of this highly-advanced robotic prostate cancer treatment demonstrates our commitment to providing world-class health care to our patients.

Florida Hospital will continue to be a leader in robotic surgeries for prostate and gynecologic oncology patients and soon will be expanding to include the development of cardiac, colorectal, benign gynecologic and bariatric robotic programs.

Robotic Surgery offers our patients many benefits including smaller incisions, spared nerves, less blood loss, pain and scarring and quicker recovery times. In specific types of surgery such as robotic prostatectomy, the return to normal sexual function and bladder control is much quicker. In addition, robotic surgery patients are able to resume normal activities in a shortened time period.
