FH Gynecologic Oncology Centre – Hysterectomy Team Bios

At Florida Hospital Cancer Institute, we know that the best possible outcome for each of our patients is based on many factors, including the aptitude and expertise of our physicians. However, the careful selection of our renowned staff is based not only on depth of knowledge and ability to excel in surgery, sensitivity to the emotional and spiritual needs of our patients is also a critical criterion.

Through stringent guidelines, we have assembled a world-class staff who specialize in patient care, cancer treatment, innovative research and highly advanced procedures, such as robotic surgery. We are proud to publish our Hysterectomy Team bios:

    Dr. Finkler founded the Gynecologic Oncology Program at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute in 1992. After completing his medical training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, Dr. Finkler conducted his OB/GYN residency and his Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Brigham and Women's Hospital at Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Finkler is board certified in Gynecologic Oncology and is the principle investigator for all GYN Oncology Group clinical trials, a National Cancer Institute cooperative group.

    Robert W. Holloway joined the Gynecologic Oncology Program at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute in 1994. He graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, completed his OB/GYN residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and finished his fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. He is board certified in Gynecologic Oncology and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. He is the principle investigator for several clinical trials and is asked to lecture regularly around the country.

    Dr. Bigsby joined the Gynecologic Oncology Program at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute in 2006. After receiving a BA in Psychology at the University of Colorado, Dr. Bigsby attended the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Bigsby completed his fellowship at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute and is board certified through the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

    Pam is a native of Kentucky. She received her education from Murray State University and began working in medical management approximately 30 years ago. Pam also obtained her certification as a Certified Medical Office Manager in 2006. Many of her years in management were in Primary Care, but Pam moved into oncology about ten years ago. She has worked in Gynecologic Oncology in Missouri and Florida.

    Originally from Long Island, NY, Pat moved to Florida in 1987 after attending Nassau Community College. Pat graduated from Florida Hospital School of Practical Nursing as the valedictorian in 1990 and worked as a floor nurse on the Women's Pavilion at Florida Hospital. In 1993, she was recruited to work in the newly created Gynecologic Cancer Program at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute. She has remained with the specialty since that time and has been instrumental in its growth and development.
